Company history
1963:
Establishment of Primetzhofer as a one-man operation in Kleinmünchen
by Hermann Primetzhofer.
1964:
Movement to the current premises in Leonding, the
range of services then extended from sheet metal working and subcontract
work to small steel constructions.
The original small company grew successively, reaching 60 employees
in 1970 and established itself on the marketplace as a powerful,
quality-oriented company.
After a while the steel construction sector developed into an “all-round
company”, the range of services was extended, large orders
and steel construction projects increasingly took centre-stage.

1970:
Establishment of the 2nd pillar of Primetzhofer
– vehicle construction. The establishment of this second branch
cleverly tapped into the synergy effects between the steel construction
and vehicle construction sectors; the number of employees rose to
around 100.
The range of products and services at the time covered tipper bodies
that were developed in-house and characterised by a particularly
high level of robustness without additional weight!
Qualified personnel and the fundamental willingness to innovate
ensured a rapid expansion of the existing range: special steered
semitrailer vehicles were designed, developed and patented, locking
systems were developed for which Primetzhofer holds the patents.
The development of asphalt and stone tippers and bodies completes
the product range.
1986:
Creation of the “municipal technology”
department as a subsector of the vehicle construction sector. After
the company had successfully established itself on the market with
its vehicle bodies, the range of utility vehicles was completed
by the municipal technology sector. In addition to the “conventional”
tipper bodies and utility vehicles waste disposal bodies for liquid
wastes for tank and separation cleaning work and combination sewer
rinsing and gully emptying bodies were added to the range!
1998:
Creation of an in-house cardan shaft department! Cardan shafts
are produced and repaired using the latest machinery.
2004:
A computer-controlled parts store is put into service.
Whilst the stores and spares parts sales area are being constructed,
the office area is also reorganised.
2008:
In the spring of 2008 opened PRIMETZHOFER a production
plant for the vehicle construction in Kaltenberg.
